Obama is making the USA a third-world Banana Republic…

Throngs of Haitians, Africans, Russians, Armenians and Guatemalans are being admitted into the United States via the Mexican border with virtually no vetting for security or health risks, high-level Homeland Security officials told Judicial Watch this week.

Never missing an opportunity to offer illegal immigrants reprieve, the Obama administration has repeatedly used inclement weather, a virus, natural disasters and tainted water in a U.S. city to extend the perk in the last few years. This month the administration announced yet another special amnesty for victims of Hurricane Matthew.

The powerful storm slammed the southeastern United States a few weeks ago, killing dozens and causing severe flooding. News reports have confirmed deaths in North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. Entire communities from central Florida to Virginia suffered power outages, major flooding and a lot of homes are still uninhabitable. There’s no disputing that Hurricane Matthew had a devastating impact in the region and its effects will linger for some time. This may call for federal emergency help, but amnesty?

The government is calling it “immigration relief” that may help people affected by unforeseen circumstances, including natural disasters such as Hurricane Matthew. Among the relief measures that will be available are work permits, “change of non-immigrant status or extension of nonimmigrant stay” for those in the U.S. illegally and forgiveness for immigrants who blew off deportation court hearings. Thanks to Hurricane Matthew this violation is now being referred to in the following manner: “Those who received a Request for Evidence or a Notice of Intent to Deny but were unable to appear for an interview, submit evidence or respond in a timely manner.” Thanks to the hurricane, the government will offer these individuals “assistance.” Furthermore, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which sustains itself largely with customer fees, will waive the fees “due to an inability to pay,” caused by the storm, of course.

A few years ago, the Obama administration took advantage of Hurricane Sandy to waive immigration laws, including for violators of student visas like most of the 9/11 hijackers. The official announcement, issued by USCIS, stated that the government “understands that a natural disaster can affect an individual’s ability to maintain a lawful immigration status.” Among the benefits of that hurricane amnesty was “expedited adjudication of off-campus employment authorization applications for F-1 students experiencing economic hardship.” Hurricanes in other countries have also benefited illegal aliens in the U.S. who happen to be nationals of the affected regions, even though they don’t live there.

In the last few years, Obama has granted Ebola amnesty for illegal aliens from Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, earthquake amnesty for Haitians, hurricane amnesty for Hondurans and Nicaraguans and “ongoing armed conflict” amnesty for nationals of Yemen, an Islamic Middle Eastern country well known as an Al Qaeda breeding ground. Earlier this year the administration rewarded illegal aliens in the Southern and the Midwestern United States “severe weather” amnesty due to the flooding that battered the region and forced rivers from Texas to Illinois to surge out of control. Let’s not forget the water amnesty rewarded to illegal aliens in Michigan in February. That reprieve was implemented after pro-immigrant Spanish media outlets demanded that DHS refrain from enforcing immigration laws in areas of Flint affected by a crisis in which the areas water got contaminated with lead from decaying old pipes.

It is believed by the entire staff here at The Contemplative Thinker that President Barack Hussein Obama is going overboard to alter, change and transform America as it was once known. I have been spending days reading comments and/or responses at other independent websites as well as credible international publications and most individuals who respond call America the New “Banana Republic” with reference of course to the USA resembling a third world nation.

A Personal Response to Individual Responsibility

How we got to the present situation is a long story, but the painful fact is that we are here now. Among the leading minds of our times, including Charles Murray today and the late and great Milton Friedman earlier, there have been proposals for ways of subsidizing the poor without the suffocating distortions of the government’s welfare state bureaucracy.

Well at least he is close — but he will not receive any gold stars from me. It is something to say, “how we got to the current situation is a long story, but painfully here we are now. Hey listen, I darn near worship the ground this man walks on, but when one goes out on a superlative limb one should have the facts to back up what they are alleging.

Professor Friedman’s plan for a negative income tax to help the poor has already been put into practice. But, contrary to his intention to have this replace the welfare state bureaucracy, it has been simply tacked on to all the many other government programs, instead of replacing them.

It is not inevitable that the same thing will happen to Charles Murray’s plan, but I would bet the rent money that there would be the same end result.

Before dignifying this article anymore we must place some issues into perspective, shall we? What has happened to Social Security or even the notion of paying into an entity for a later time in life? Ah, who? Oh, I see the government has used it for additional government programs — spare me the rubbish, Sir, but does our government need any more programs?

Allow me if you will — “The country is 7 trillion dollars more in debt today than when I took office; subsequently, I have decided to give our successful Welfare Reform Program (initiated by President Clinton) a complete makeover. And while we are taking about this yes, I was delivered the Head Start Report that shows failure after failure…failure.

Just what specific problem is so dire as to cause some conservatives and libertarians to propose that the government come to the rescue by giving every adult money to live on without working? Where does this topic even come from?

Low-income neighborhoods suffer far more from social degeneration, including high rates of crime and violence than from material deprivation. Do you think that that fiasco is planned? The 1960s that causes you much concern is the specific time when in 1965 at the behest of the Kennedy’s that almost all of the Immigration and Naturalization Service  (INS) was completely changed. Various quotas, the rule of admittance, the Visa Lottery and more were changed and/or added.

Before there can be a welfare state in a democratic country, there must first be a welfare state vision that becomes sufficiently pervasive to allow a welfare state to be created. That vision, in which people are “entitled” to what others have produced, is at the heart of the social degeneration that can be traced back to the 1960s. But on the other hand, what about funds that we the people have produced such as Social Security, Internal Revenue Service, and various military benefits paid in however when time came to pay out, the government says your time has worn out for recovery?

Teenage pregnancies, venereal diseases, dependency on government and murder rates were all going down during the much-disdained 1950s. All reversed and shot up as the welfare state, and the social vision of the welfare state took over in the 1960s. So then why all of the sentence challenging, three strikes laws, early release especially by illegal’s and others given the recidivism rates? In reality what happened is, of course, Herbert “the Boss” Hoover retired from the F.B.I.

That vision featured non-judgmental rewards and non-judgmental leniency toward counterproductive behavior, whether crime or irresponsible sex and its consequences. But relieving people from the responsibilities and challenges of life is doing them no favor. Nor is it a favor to society at large.

In an entitlement context, all sorts of “gaps” and “disparities” automatically become “inequities,” and a reason for lashing out at others, instead of improving yourself. Only in a society in which rewards are based on contributions is there any reasonable reply to the question as to why Bill Gates has so much and others so little. This, unfortunately, is true and I agree.

The track record of divorcing personal rewards from personal contributions hardly justifies more of the same, even when it is in a more sophisticated form. Sophisticated social disaster is still a disaster — and we already have too much of that.

This is a profoundly institutionalized inequality that has renewed race and class disadvantage. Yet the scale and empirical details tell a story that is largely unknown.

Emphatically as it goes, we do not believe that this is some trumped up scheme being brought on by any one single person or any group sized institution. Again we do believe that it is the unintended circumstances that must be accounted for — however for as much scholarly, academic, or sociological writing that has happened the point is —the lawmakers who sought the current laws are the same people as those who made the original laws.
