Simply does not make Sense
One doesn’t even have to be old-fashioned anymore. Believing in the sanctity of sovereignty or plainly having respect for our own border, taking pride in being an American, and willing to do what it costs to remain a sovereign nation is what is important. Funny how the “Hollyweird” people have not stepped up their rhetoric of late.
The Associated Press reported today, along with yours truly, “Hondurans fleeing poverty and violence, rest before moving in a caravan toward the United States, outside a bus station.
More than 64 percent of Honduran households live in poverty, and San Pedro Sula has one of the world’s highest murder rates.”
Okay, some nations are considered “third world.” And unfortunately, this is one of the criteria. Having a failing economy, people working for fewer wages than what it takes to live on, indeed are signs of poverty. But let’s not forget that third world nations also have politicians and governments. Moreover, let’s not forget that this way of living is not discriminatory, or deliberately attacking the members of those societies.
Therefore, what I am promoting is that this does not warrant new rules and policy on refugees. There is not one single bit of evidence that these people are being religious, politics, or discriminated against for this to evolve into asylum seeking. Both President’s Obama and Trump alongside were very responsible for establishing this office of US State Department’s new program of calling border jumpers and those who end up here illegally under The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) is one of the State Department’s “functional,” as opposed to “geographic” bureaus.
It is important to remember our defined leaderships declaration of 1951, that clearly states; According to the 1951 United Nations Refugee Convention, a refugee is defined as someone who “owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality, and is unable to or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself of the protection of that country…”
Therefore, we are all interested in assisting the third world nation’s economic status, but hey, let’s not be giving entitlements to induce people to walk or ride buses to America. Now by allowing this newly formed project, The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) in cohorts with The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funds the work of these other international organizations as well as non-governmental organizations to respond to IDP needs as well. I think we’ve all taken issue with $90 million dollars of USAID funds being used in Afghanistan right now as I type.
