Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano last Tuesday reaffirmed the Obama administration’s opposition to securing the border before granting amnesty to the roughly 12 million illegal aliens in the United States. At an event hosted by the Christian Science Monitor on Tuesday, Secretary Napolitano said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would not develop an official metric for measuring border security. (Christian Science Monitor, Mar. 26, 2013)
Napolitano also argued against including any “trigger” in amnesty legislation that delays the issuance of green cards to illegal aliens until certain border security measures are taken. Claiming that doing so would create too much uncertainty for illegal aliens, she said the inclusion of a “trigger” is “not the way to go.” (TPM, Mar. 26, 2013) “There needs to be certainty in the bill so that people know when they can legalize and then when the pathway to citizenship, earned citizenship, would open up,” said Napolitano.
As for us here at The Contemplative Thinker we just cannot see where we as in “We the People” that is the citizenry of the United States has anything to do with the matter. As Janet Napolitano whines about “creating too much uncertainty for illegal aliens” leaves me at a loss with the exception of treason.
As for us again, we’ve have always known that President Obama is a pathological liar; however, we were unable to comprehend just how measly the U.S. Congress has been with regards to pandering with the Chief Executive. We would like at least one viable answer to any of the questions: What do you do for a living? What do you know about the separation of powers? While this line of questioning may make you wonder who it is that is writing them – please understand that they are being asked because you, in your positions of regalia, have failed to demonstrate what it is that we are paying you to do.
Surely you would understand our position – if not perhaps we could ignite your memory just a bit. Our government was established by people who knew the minds of men. Moreover, they expressed and were quoted how public officials should not be trusted because of a little measure that my professor’s lectured about constantly – The Truths about Human Nature.
Interestingly in Federalist 51 this precise issue was addressed and here are a few of the provisions: “The only answer is: all outside provisions are inadequate. Therefore, the government must be structured, designed, so that the three constitutional branches and their relationship will have the ability to keep each other in their proper places.”
Under the subheading of Federalist 51 subsection 4 it reads: Government Reflects Human Nature: Angels Don’t Need Government – It may be the reflection on human nature that such devices are necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.
In framing a government that is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed, and in the next place, force it to control itself.” Publius (James Madison) writing Federalist #51
Our Honorable Senators and Representatives: We believe that the unconscionable one in the White House has usurped enough power from your charter. We are at a legitimate loss wondering when our legislative branch has done anything meaningful for our country – or at least anything that would be published by the mainstream-media. You have let the White House abuse your power in all military functions.
What say yea in matters of illegal immigration? Absolutely nothing of substance! What is readily noticeable is the notions that not only have you surrendered power with a slew of dreamt-up reasons for executive orders that somehow or another have become law, but you are letting a very confused person dictate to you what it is that you will do. Do you have any dignity left? Now you have Janet Napolitano dictating to you once again.
A very wise gentleman once said to me: “During the 1960s there was a hullabaloo about this idea of overpopulation perhaps in reality so that BIG PHARMACY could get thumbs up on birth control pills?
Things are a little different now, hell, now you can just walk in to the country and someone who wants to be somebody will see to it that you receive everything from healthcare, social security payments, earned income credits, unemployment insurance, your very own U.S. Federal credit card for expenses like food or whatever, and lest I never forget, it is this nation’s honor to provide you with citizenship.”
