Illegal immigrant relatives of the 9/11 attacks want permanent residency

Accommodate...feed, clothe, entitle them and then some!

A New York congresswoman has for the third time introduced legislation to grant special U.S. residency to more than a dozen illegal immigrants whose undocumented relatives were killed in the 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attacks. (Is any one other than us thinking…’what next’?)

Democrat Carolyn Maloney, who has represented New York’s 14th district in the U.S. House since 1992, wants Congress to pass a law that will grant permanent U.S. residency to the illegal aliens spouses and children of workers—also illegal immigrants—killed in the 9/11 attacks. The measure has twice been introduced by Maloney and defeated in the House.

The 14 illegal immigrants who would get green cards were married or are the foreign-born kids of undocumented employees at the World Trade Center’s restaurant, Windows on the World. What on earth is an “undocumented employee”?

Now here is where the real bomb explodes: All of the illegal immigrants have received hefty payments—ranging from $875,000 to $4.1 million—from the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund but live in fear of being deported, according to a sob story published in the New York Times this week. The piece further points out that, because the illegal aliens don’t have proper identification, they can’t get a driver’s licenses, jobs or a place at school. (Read sob story by clicking here.)

For some reason – we have a difficult time accepting any of this as being America’s problem or certainly Mr. and Mrs. Public’s problem. Moreover, we have a very big problem with the suggestion that they can’t get driver’s licenses, jobs, or a place at school; unless of course they now want these entitlements for free.

Some lawmakers are logically concerned about passing a special law for a particular group of people who have violated U.S. statutes. An Iowa congressman asks: “Why should these families be treated any different than the families of illegal immigrants who die in accidents or by natural causes while in the United States?”

In closing for now…America’s just got to be the place! Come as any nationality and foreign born citizen, ILLEGALLY, get handed health care, food, food stamps, welfare, and even compensated for being in the place illegally. You’ve just go to love America!

Feinstein, Durbin Trying to Limit Citizen Journalism

The heck with this...

Just within a matter of weeks we espoused the notion that the central (federal) government is constantly trying to pry into the lives – in any way possible – of the citizenry. Furthermore, we have written additional articles in our Founding Father’s Quotes Friday (FFQF) about how the original founders – in their own words – felt about an all encompassing, or over-reaching government presence that would be counter-productive to the people of America. The Senate Judiciary Committee is meeting this morning to discuss the long-awaited extension of press shield protections into federal courts. The key question up for grabs in S. 448 is who counts as a “journalist” and therefore can generally protect her confidential sources from a prosecutor’s reach — the original bill states that a journalist “means a person who is engaged in journalism,” while the Durbin-Feinstein amendment would restrict these protections to someone who is “working as a salaried employee of, or independent contractor for” some media organization.

S.448 Title: A bill to maintain the free flow of information to the public by providing conditions for the federally compelled disclosure of information by certain persons connected with the news media. Sponsor: Sen. Specter, Arlen [PA] (introduced 2/13/2009) Cosponsors (10) Latest Major Action: 12/3/2009 Senate committee/subcommittee actions. Status: Committee on the Judiciary.

The Senate was on track to do better by citizen journalism than the House given some pressure. But now, two key Democrats have introduced an amendment that would put citizen journalists at risk, giving protections to only established journalists.

This is absurd; moreover, outrageous in a nation founded on the principles of valuing and respecting the free speech of others. It seems they only want their cronies in the mainstream media to be free. The rest of us can go hang. Durbin and Feinstein. What should one expect from the likes of them?

Tiger Woods: An idiot?

A little harsh..?

This writing is perhaps one of the most difficult I’ve had to write insofar as it concerns someone I respect and admire. That being said we at The Thinker take issue with the language used by Michelle Malkin with her commentary.

Not that we would ever condone what Mr. Woods and his “transgressions” may or may not be; as a conservative Christian organization we feel that others who may share the same belief system, really are committing the same “transgressions” as Tiger Woods in one way or another. You see, as far as the Divine is concerned there is no differentiation between sins. Ironically when we did verse searches we came upon book of John, chapter 8, verse 7 also know as ‘The Adulterous Woman’ chapter and says:

“He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” (Jesus Christ to the Pharisee elite.)

As far as Tiger Woods being one of the most famous celebrities in the world, we are still at odds with the “multiple affairs” claim alleged by Malkin. Furthermore, we’d love to know why Tiger Woods doesn’t have the right to be left alone while keeping personal family matters within the family. We believe the U.S. Constitution says otherwise.

Are tabloids out of control? Sure. Is the unethical and hedonistic state of humankind out of control? Oh you bet it is! However, publically telling someone to ‘man up’ or accusing them of ‘multiple affairs’ without proof, evidence, or otherwise, really is a bit harsh, don’t you think.

Again we do not condone what Tiger Woods has done; however, when one states “That is all;” well why carry on the rant? Below is the post by Michelle Malkin. We urge you to go to her site and look at what ‘The Others’ said in comments.

If you feel compelled to weigh in on his admission of “transgressions” and plea for privacy (shoulda thought about that before committing the transgressions against your beautiful wife/mother of your children, don’t you think, Tiger?), have at it.

Takeaway quote from his press release: “Personal sins should not require press releases.”

Well. You can’t be one of the most famous celebrities in the world, carry on multiple affairs with fame-hungry women, cheat on your gorgeous, dedicated wife with whom you have had two gorgeous children (whom you have posed with for public photos), and expect to be left alone.

Are tabloids out of control? Sure. But Tiger needs to man up and stop whining about the press. Like it or not, his bad judgment is news.

Cone of Shame Award for you!

We have no qualms with Mrs. Malkin; moreover, we understand her passion. She is a wife and mother too. Yet, even after Stephen was stoned to death, his last words were:

“Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” (Acts 7:60 NASB)

The things we learn or hope we learn!

Just the facts, ma'am...

There have been some pretty influential people that have come into our lives; and it seems that whatever we’ve learned from these people seems to stick with us for life – or one would hope so.

Let’s break this down into categories shall we? Let’s go with business, education, and typical news for now. Why these categories? If for no other reason, these topics are widely used and a lot about them has been in the media.

One of the most significant other’s I’ve ever known is a Chartered Accountant who lives in Sydney, Australia. We became friends in some business transactions then became best-friends and business partners as we grew up. In one of the smaller company’s we’d taken over – primarily because of the company’s indebtedness – needed to have an internal control audit. Seriously now, if you’re looking to buy something don’t you want to know about it?

Sure…we all do – I think. As my partner and I were going over the books she muttered under her breath to me: “Don’t forget…trust is bust;” okay so I was clueless. She explained that there are not any excuses for delay such as, ”I’ll give it to you later…or I know it’s in this file” or the proverbial “I lost it” scenarios. She very politely explained to me that if I don’t actually see the documents and hold them in my hands – well, quite openly to a Chartered Accountant the documents just do not exist.

While attending graduate school and writing journals, position papers, and a thesis was one issue; however, what is considered the most important aspect of any academic exposition is of course, its citations. Basically it follows the precise example of the business model of “Trust is Bust.” In dissertations or factual writing there must be the trail to where one got their information. This concept has been espoused to support the notions of reliability and validity. Therefore the entire notion of citing particulars as to where one obtained the information is critical; moreover, it shows credibility.

So what is this all about? I see people enthralled by this global warming bull squat (hoax), cap and trade, the White House visitors list, and quite frankly I ask: Please don’t tell me people have believed in this rubbish about global warming? Better still, where is the supporting documentation? Any scientist worth their salt would have data covering at the very least 100 years! Moreover, the data would be readily available for everyone to see. We believe that criminal charges should be sought for the likes of Albert Gore and his cronies.

Moral: Before anyone tries to feed you a line, try and remember these principles mentioned above. Does it surprise you that all of these global warming advocates cannot put up the data? It’s gone missing. Or maybe it just never existed. Think about our own Congress…trust them with your money?

Post script: We believe that through the perceived empowerment by our government with the entitlements so freely handed out and to whomever, that most people in America have gotten very complacent. Sure – it’s a lot easier to sit and have terms dictated to you – however, if we let illegal immigration with wayward stimulus packages act as our guide…now is not the time for complacency. Get up America!

In defense of privacy

He doesn't deserve this!

How interesting is the notion that the main-stream media would look for actual goodness in a published news story? Believe it or not there are many ‘high-brow’ media outlets that although they stay involved so as not to be left out (“just in case”) – but we’ve yet to find anything remotely close to human interest, or otherwise to support the unabashed rubbish about Tiger Woods.

What ever happened to privacy in this country? Joe the Plumber asks a question of a candidate and this guy’s life is turned inside out and roughly squeegee through the ringer. And here’s something that we have a tremendous issue with: Roughly a decade ago for no apparent legitimate reason, Rush Limbaugh’s medical records were seized from his doctor’s office and perused with a fine tooth comb.

Mr. Limbaugh did not commit a crime; nor did Mr. Limbaugh even present a probable cause for the federal authorities to stalk him as they did. The federal authorities scanned his personal email (on whose authority?) absconded his “doctor-patient confidentiality” medical records, then began enticing the media day after day.

Indeed we need to ask ourselves a very simple question: Why is it important to go after celebrities? Moreover, as in the cases we’ve mentioned, Tiger Woods and Rush Limbaugh, what is it that the media will disregard facts, evidence, and just get on with real news?

As much as we care about the dignity, integrity, and good will of “We the People…” we also find it a filthy travesty to recklessly disregard the privacy of those very people. Interestingly in our blog crawl, we happened upon this blog article, Tuned In – a blog about television by TIMES tv critic James Poniewozik. And we wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Poniewozik and his interpretations of the state of journalism in America.

We in the respectable media are not interested in Tiger Woods’ car crash for prurient reasons. Oh, no. We don’t care about what a celebrity, but a private citizen, may or may not have been doing with his extracurricular time. Nor do we care about the rush of viewers and readers—like you there, who came to this article by Googling “Tiger Woods car crash affair rumors”—and how good it will make us look to our advertisers if we indulge it.

No, we care only for high-minded reasons. It’s about, um, the business impact of the story on the lucrative sports-endorsement business. It’s about, um, the ever-changing culture of American celebrity. It’s about, um, traffic safety! How many more innocent trees must suffer? Wait, no! It’s about the media coverage itself! That’s the ticket! So here is a blog post about the media coverage itself!

And, of course, like any media issue today, it’s complicated by money. Or the lack thereof. Journalism organizations (like Time Inc.) are losing revenue and shedding jobs left and right. How much attention can we afford to pass up in the name of purity?

Political Correctness in the military, part 2

Political correctness in the military

Earlier this month we presented an article that espoused the notion as to whether “political correctness” may have had a direct result on the travesty at Fort Hood. We quite openly believe that if a person is acting out with their ideological beliefs and is conflicted about what he believes as opposed to what he does, sure – there can be a real problem.

However the point of our previous article as well as this one is to illustrate how gaining “protected status” under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment – has reached a point where it simply is not assisting those who need protection in this country. Sixty-three percent (63%) of U.S. voters say political correctness prevented the military from responding to warning signs from Major Nidal Malik Hasan that could have prevented the Fort Hood shootings from taking place.

A new Rasmussen Reports national survey shows that just 16% disagree and do not believe political correctness kept military authorities from possibly stopping the killing of 13 people and the wounding of many others in the November 5 incident. Twenty-one percent (21%) are not sure.

Older Americans are more suspicious of political correctness than voters under 40. Republicans and voters not affiliated with either major political party overwhelmingly believe political correctness held the military back. That view is shared by 49% of Democrats while 23% of those in the president’s party disagree to think political correctness kept the military from responding to warning signs from Hasan.

Seventy-five percent (75%) of Mainstream Americans think political correctness prevented the military from responding before the attacks took place.

New reports say authorities were aware of suspicious behavior and comments by Hasan, a devout Muslim, but no action was taken against him, in part because of concern that there might be an appearance of anti-Islamic bias. Both President Obama and the Army chief of staff urged Americans not to jump to conclusions about the cause of the shootings just after they took place.

Seventy-three percent (73%) of Texas voters say Hasan should receive the death penalty if he is convicted of the massacre at Fort Hood. Military prosecutors have charged Hasan with 13 counts of premeditated murder. If convicted, he is eligible for the death penalty. Quick question: Why do you suppose that voters over the age of 40 are more suspicious of political correctness?

What is this administration up to now?

Ahem...notice anything unusual is this photo?

What is this administration up to now? What is congress up too other than doing precisely the opposite of what the American people don’t want? An overwhelming majority of Americas do not support the health care bill that the Senate recently voted on pursuant to having a debate about it. Dear Senator Reid: Why are you insisting to push this legislation through the Senate when the American people simply and clearly don’t want it?

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June. (Rasmussen Reports, click here.)

And ladies and gentlemen what is up with this ‘war tax’ that is isolating the rich to pay for a war? Goodness people wake up – and that goes for representatives and senators in Congress as well as every member in the Obama administration. It’s even got a name: “Share the Sacrifice Act of 2010.”

Here’s one for Rush, O’Reilly, Oprah, Buffet, Gates, Bloomberg, Perot, Murdoch, and all of the lesser known wealthy Americans: If we were in your income category the first thing we’d do is inform the current no-brainer administration that you are already paying approximately 80% or more of federal income taxes. Secondly, we would file for equal protection under the 14th amendment and the Equal Protection Clause.

For just a refresher – the Equal Protection Clause is that clause engineered by the writers of the 14th amendment in post-Civil War America. This is the clause that every group this side of normal goes with into court to receive “Protected status” and any criticism of that class is of course referred to as being discriminated against. This is the true path to making money; or at least for special interest groups who whine over the slightest bit.

So what makes the rich any different? There are far more Arab-Americans, Muslim-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, African-Americans, LGBT-Americans than there are truly wealthy people in this country. So why not claim your protection status before this government who has already hit you up for health care, income taxes, and redistribution of your wealth – the heck with them – get your protection!

This current spend-thrift Congress will surely take down America as we once knew it. They don’t care if we own General Motors, or AIG, or Chrysler, or large portions of Bank of America or any number of things we’ve already purchased and legally own.

“We the People…” is who you are supposed to be representing. Therefore how could anyone with a reasonable mind even entertain the notion of having a civilian trial in New York when the majority of the nation is against it; furthermore, the people of the great state of New York don’t want terrorists tried in their state either (55%).

When was the last time you contacted your “duly elected congressional officials office”?

Civilian trial for enemy combatants?

Tells it like it is...with flare!

We love this guy! Charles Krauthammer does not mince words or stumble for political correctness. He is one of the last surviving ’shoot from the hip’ kind of man who is able to combine intelligence, knowledge, morals, ethics, and common sense into one brilliant sentence, after sentence, after…

We need to do some hat-tipping here: First to Michelle Malkin for recommending that we ALL have a look at the website or twitter site, “Keep America Safe” and then with compliments to KAS, on to Charles Krauthammer who as mentioned – has presented the greatest logical argument for not having a civilian trial for terrorists. Just a couple of excerpts from his editorial in the Washington Post:

“For late-19th-century anarchists, terrorism was the “propaganda of the deed.” And the most successful propaganda-by-deed in history was 9/11 — not just the most destructive, but the most spectacular and telegenic.

And now its self-proclaimed architect, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, has been given by the Obama administration a civilian trial in New York. Just as the memory fades, 9/11 has been granted a second life — and KSM, a second act: “9/11, The Director’s Cut,” narration by KSM.

So why is Attorney General Eric Holder doing this? Ostensibly, to demonstrate to the world the superiority of our system, where the rule of law and the fair trial reign.

Really? What happens if KSM (and his co-defendants) “do not get convicted,” asked Senate Judiciary Committee member Herb Kohl. “Failure is not an option,” replied Holder. Not an option? Doesn’t the presumption of innocence, er, presume that prosecutorial failure — acquittal, hung jury — is an option? By undermining that presumption, Holder is undermining the fairness of the trial, the demonstration of which is the alleged rationale for putting on this show in the first place.

Furthermore Mr. Krauthammer defines the detrimental significance of having a civilian trial in New York:

Apart from the fact that any such trial will be a security nightmare and a terror threat to New York — what better propaganda-by-deed than blowing up the courtroom, making KSM a martyr and turning the judge, jury and spectators into fresh victims? — it will endanger U.S. security. Civilian courts with broad rights of cross-examination and discovery give terrorists access to crucial information about intelligence sources and methods.

American compassion = laughable weakness

Who was this written for?

Beyond any question of doubt whatsoever, we couldn’t be happier and more pleased with the interview and question and answer period with Vince Flynn with insights given about his new book, The Pursuit of Honor, which unbeknownst to many is Mr. Flynn’s 11th best-selling effort. Therefore, no rocket science required here folks; this guy is definitely on to something.

According to Vince Flynn – and this makes tremendous sense – the real “Hero’s” in our nation are those who serve in intelligence (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Secret Service, and other sources ‘behind the scenes, in the trenches’ low paid government employees – as well as the men and women of our military. Furthermore, having defined who the hero’s are, Mr. Flynn takes no time in identifying who the enemies of the USA are as well. First the terrorists who blow-up things and number two (ready?), are the bad politicians that allegedly run the country.

On matters concerning civilian trials for enemy combatants:

Of course Flynn refers to the recent decision by Attorney General Eric Holder to have a trial for these terrorist enemies who have already admitted their guilt and have made it well-known their wishes to be put to death as in martyrs for their cause. Clearly Flynn sees the media extravaganza that will not be good for New Yorkers who have carried more than their psychological load; furthermore, in strict agreement with Flynn we believe that New York can ill-afford this travesty and why should they be bearing the costs?

As for today we feel we are unable to contain this information until tomorrow, so here goes: Vince Flynn believes that if it is American compassion that is at stake here vis-a-vie a civilian trial in New York he believes that this is seen as a laughable weakness in hard core Islamic ideology.

Flynn simply states that if these defendants want a grandstand to preach about American ways then he says: “Bring them up to New York with their attorney’s; meet in chambers and have the judge ask them the questions they have already answered: One, do you admit to your involvement in the acts of war on Sep 11, 2001? “Yes.” Two do you want to die – as a martyr – as your form of punishment? “Yes.” Good says the judge…now pick the tallest building scheduled for demolition and prepared to die as you admittedly killed others…

On matters concerning Islam, Muslims, and Political Correctness

This portion of the interview just set us aflame! Mr. Flynn espouses that most of the difficulty with Islam is an internal struggle of ideologies – however, not to be mistaken as a Christian — Islamic war by any means; in fact Flynn states this is not abut religion. Flynn describes that this particular conflict is at the heart a struggle between various factions within Islam.

Flynn points out that Muslims in this country have gained ‘minority status’ which in turn makes it illegal to criticize them; albeit on the basis of discrimination. He further drives home the point that those who are the gravest offenders are the same ones who provoke one to engage in their controversial beliefs. Global Warming Hoax

Global warming?

Well we are certain that we’re not the first ones to espouse that the entire notion of “Global Warming” has been a carefully designed hoax of all hoaxes. Yet just for the sake of our peace of mind and reporting truthful news and events we’re going to say it anyway – We told you so!

Take caution friends when this Nation’s elected officials try to steal more money from you – the taxpayer – with overwhelming stories of and doom and gloom methodology about how the Earth is coming to a disastrous end through some story concocted by people who look to make big profits selling you everything from ‘carbon credits’ to other outlandish manure. Clearly some are having a lot more influence than others in these contrived matters. However remember the expression – “You can fool some of the people sometime…but you can’t fool all of the people all the time”? It is getting clearly evident that photo-shopped pictures of helpless polar bears floating out to sea have seen their time – or even better, the infamous 15-minutes of fame in the global warming society is coming to a screeching halt.

New York Times journalist, Andrew C. Revkin, reports on some latest findings regarding the validity of “Global Warming:”

Hundreds of private e-mail messages and documents hacked from a computer server at a British university are causing a stir among global warming skeptics, who say they show that climate scientists conspired to overstate the case for a human influence on climate change.

The e-mail messages, attributed to prominent American and British climate researchers, include discussions of scientific data and whether it should be released, exchanges about how best to combat the arguments of skeptics, and casual comments — in some cases derisive — about specific people known for their skeptical views. Drafts of scientific papers and a photo collage that portrays climate skeptics on an ice floe were also among the hacked data, some of which dates back 13 years.

“In one e-mail exchange, a scientist writes of using a statistical “trick” in a chart illustrating a recent sharp warming trend. In another, a scientist refers to climate skeptics as “idiots.”

“Some skeptics asserted Friday that the correspondence revealed an effort to withhold scientific information. “This is not a smoking gun; this is a mushroom cloud,” said Patrick J. Michaels, a climatologist who has long faulted evidence pointing to human-driven warming and is criticized in the documents.

Stephen McIntyre, a blogger who on his Web site, climateaudit.org, has for years been data used to chart climate patterns, and who came in for heated criticism in some e-mail messages, called the revelations “quite breathtaking.” (Please for additional reading, challenging" target="_self">click here.)

We believe that there is more data available about humankind’s propensity for littering regarding “space junk” that could cause problems that should be addressed now, rather than cooking legislation based on a hoax. Furthermore, we believe that an early protection system could be explored and possibly implemented vis-a-vie meteors and asteroids on track to collide with earth.

In fact there are so many things that can be done with the trillions of dollars of taxpayer funds that ostensibly are better than where they are being used presently.
