What should NOT happen to our rule of law in the USAPosted: December 9, 2012
It seems more each day that I am running into various and sundry “experts” as it were on matters relevant to the U.S. Constitution. Prior to many mistakes and plain outright treachery from various political parties and their leaders of record one couldn’t get an intelligent conversation anywhere regarding how any of the Founder’s felt on various issues, with the exception of someone who is not native to the USA. Moreover, we allude to foreign folks who largely know a great deal more than the average American.
On the other hand since President Barack Obama was elected and shortly before his re-election becomes a reality it seems now as though every person in this country is by some measurement a Constitutional scholar.
Needless to say that this is the truth: That the more the document gets egregiously slaughtered, someone has to instruct those in the legislature about the way these Founders put the document in order.
We are of the staunch opinion that if the majority of the Founders were around today witnessing firsthand what various branches of the federal government were actually doing at the behest of the Constitution – I for one truly believe that they would be so outraged that they would be making plans to fly, sail, submarine, water-ski, or paddle board, you name it, to be so disconcerted with the way things have become, they’d be distraught.
I believe that they’d disown it, redact, or find a way to destroy every single document they had signed and either catch the first plane or ship to go elsewhere.
Consider this predicament pushed on the American people by the third ranking leader of America, at the time the House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. We will not ever fail to remember her stating publically and for the record, “Nancy Pelosi said, “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy.”
Does anyone else have a problem with Pelosi’s ridiculous measure of stupidity? Here is the third most powerful person in America in the hierarchy of becoming the Commander-in-Chief as well as the President if something were to happen to the president and vice-president.
This calls for this short article today. Whilst reading an interesting book featuring conversations between various people I happened upon a quote that brings back an entire slew of bad memories. Of course it is from the Founder and Framer James Madison:
“It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood.”
This I believe is one of the major lessons, as well as illustrations, as to what should NOT happen to our rule of law in the USA.
