Where’s the Beef? Pork?

l07-294413.jpgIt’s Saturday for goodness sake! I should be writing about the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees, of course the moon up above and this crazy thing called ‘love.’ Not this Saturday, sorry. Somebody please help me now! Where’s the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) when there exist a real case?

Up to this point in the state of California, I personally have witnessed, read, or seen via the electronic media, abuses against regular citizens of the United States. How is it that a person allegedly in a leadership position can give preferential treatment to organizations that support their agenda and deny even first amendment rights against those who don’t agree with them? Furthermore, it stinks to see the police stand there and do nothing!

Still worse is the fact that people who live in this particular area are met with abuse, insults, and even injuries for what—they don’t even know! I witnessed an American male and female interested in joining the U.S. Marine Corps, who had scheduled appointments, unable to reach the door of the recruiting facility although they were as polite and courteous as milk toast.

My heart goes out to those ordinary citizens who were just walking down the street when members of Code Pink, an anti-war group, started violently protesting and using their bodies as weapons and forced innocent passer’s by, to stop in their tracks to avoid injury or like some others were literally trampled in the chaos created by Code Pink idiots.

I read a great article over at Hot Air about public relations and basic spin control; and another great piece at Michelle Malkin comparing Berkeley, CA and Toledo OH.  Both are excellent reads and I encourage everyone to go over and have a read. Please watch the videos—must watching. Click on either of the two.

Somewhere and somehow quite craftily buried in the Omnibus Appropriations Bill, 2008, as an amendment to the Indian Health Care bill are these unseen earmarks.” In this particular case the 2 million dollars earmarked for Berkeley, California and their exquisite eating habits, a benefit to U.C. Berkeley’s endowment for cataloging needs, among other things, is completely buried.

One Berkeley earmark provides $243,000 in taxpayer dollars for the organization Chez Panisse to create gourmet organic school lunches in the Berkeley School District.

Another earmark would spend $975,000 in taxpayer dollars for the University of California, to create a new endowment and cataloging the papers of Congressman Robert Matsui. U.C. Berkeley already has a $3.5 billion endowment according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

What is going on in our country when an “All Volunteer Military” gets ostracized for doing what they want to do? This is the profession that these folks have knowingly and quite willingly decided to pursue. Why do some people feel just and heroic when protesting their belief’s at a fallen soldier’s funeral? How is it that make-shift leadership makes decisions to defame and hurt these people for what they want to do?

And finally, how on earth can Rush Limbaugh mutter the word ‘pretend’ and members of Congress go bezerk, write letters to his boss with various demands, yet when city council members in California call our U.S. Marine Corps “unwanted intruders and mass murderers” these same people won’t say a bleeding word?
